If you’re thinking of buying a new construction home in East Cobb, you probably think you don’t need to get a home inspection or perhaps you chose to work with the builder directly and they “suggest” it isn’t needed because it’s new construction.
WRONG!
Builders in East Cobb County use multiple sub-contractors when constructing a new home and some are better than others. Sometimes items get overlooked or a contractor doesn’t complete something correctly.
A good home inspector will go over the property from top to bottom, inside and out. He or she will check out the foundation, wiring, minor repairs that need to be done, and other property components. The inspector can also provide a timeline for the replacement of any of the major components including HVAC, windows, roof, etc.
It’s ideal to get your new home inspection as soon as you can once the home is finished being constructed and appliances are installed. The reason is so you can present the items in question to the builder when doing your preliminary orientation of the property. Therefore, a good home inspector can be more valuable than you think!
When you choose to work with me to buy your East Cobb new home, I’ll help you find a qualified and licensed new home inspector and I will be with you every step of the way to make sure you understand the home purchase process and what to expect throughout.
