If you’ve been considering buying a home in the East Cobb area, you’re probably aware of the challenges in this super hot sellers market. Because housing inventories are at an all time low and buyer competition is at an all time high, it’s important to know what to expect when trying to buy home.
Before we get started looking at homes, you should:
- Be pre-approved by your lender or have proof of funds for cash purchases – please note that being pre-qualified is not the same as being pre-approved for a loan. Discuss with your lender or contact us if you need a referral for a mortgage professional.
- Know what you want to buy and where you want to live – when the right home in the neighborhood you want hits the market, you’ll be ready to strike. This is also a good time to check school information, crime reports and commuting times.
- Be ready to submit an aggressive offer and possibly close in 30 days or less – avoid contingencies that make an offer difficult to accept such as having to sell a home first before being able to purchase the next.
